Quercus' Policy Electrical Installations

Electrical installations are crucial for our daily functioning. They need to be safe, reliable, functional and available.

For the design and install of electrical installations count that they need to the conformance criteria set in legislation, standards and functionality. Handing installations over from realization to operation documented proof must be available of conformity as well as information for operation and maintenance.

For operation and maintenance count that integrity of the electrical installations must be secured. Every change during operation and maintenance endangers the conformance obtained upon the commissioning.

Conformity and integrity are the critical conditions for compliance.

Compliance covers the whole electrical life cycle of electrical installations.

For compliance seven compliance elements are defined in order to assure safe and functional operation.

Compliance criteria:

  1. Installation Status
For existing installations the installation status takes place on the basis of assessment, inspections and checks.
  2. Information management
The reliability of information is not only a legal obligation but also necessary for proper operation and maintenance. As built information must be up-to-date and checked against the design specifications.
  3. Electrical Control Management
How are the critical control activities handled and are processes defined with associated procedures and instructions.
  4. Organization and Competency Management
The total electrical organizational structure must be clear with corresponding job profiles and training.
  5. Project Management
Are all contractors "in control"? Do they work with a verification plan before the start of the work.
  6. Contract Management
In the outsourcing of work, the responsibility lies with the contracting party. To what extent does Nike have an overview of all contractors who carry out electrical work within its domain.
  7. Safety Committee Electrical Safety Management
To facilitate the process of continuous improvement, a safety platform must be set up in which all parties participate. Here the results of the inspections, incidents, deviations and other electrical issues are discussed.
